POSITION: Aesthetician
REPORTS TO: Owner & Medical Director
JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for the delivery of skincare services for patients under the supervision of the owner and medical director. Other responsibilities include patient education on treatment plans and medical-grade skincare. Ensures the patient is satisfied with skincare services and products recommended and continues to return to receive skincare treatments.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma; college degree preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years experience in a medical spa working as an aesthetician; experience with HydraFacial, DiamondGlow, and microneedling highly-preferred

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Primary Responsibilities

  • Provides patients with thorough consultations regarding skincare services.
  • Provides patients with instructions and educational materials that relate to their unique skin type and recommends adjustments to their skincare regimen, as appropriate.
  • Determines patient skincare goals and objectives and recommends products and services that can reasonably facilitate the attainment of those goals.
  • Seeks advice and supervision from medical director and nurses as required on treatment protocols and notifies them of any patient noncompliance.
  • Coordinates correspondence with patients regarding their skincare treatment plan, product usage, or home care instructions.
  • Maintains patient medical records detailing all treatment procedures, elective products, medication history, and educational materials received.

​​Secondary Duties                                                                                     

  • Monitors equipment to ensure proper operation and maintains said equipment in accordance with manufacturer guidelines.
  • Maintains treatment rooms and work areas in compliance with OSHA standards.
  • Participates in and attends in-service educational programs and staff meetings.
  • Tracks referral sources, send thank-you letters to the source, and posts consultation letters to the patient.
  • Maintains inventory-tracking system for retail and professional products.
  • Orders and stocks inventory and supplies as needed for maintaining treatment rooms and retail areas.
  • Maintains a valid aesthetician license in accordance with state regulations.

​​POSITION: Cosmetic Injector
REPORTS TO: Owner & Medical Director
JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for providing elective care for cosmetic complaints that can be reasonably treated with injection procedures.  Duties include taking medical histories, performing examinations, and developing treatment plans within their scope of practice for cosmetic patients and treatment administration as directed by their supervising physician.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Five years of experience working as an R.N. with preferred experience in plastic surgery, dermatology or medical spa.
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program with a current state license.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Wide-ranging knowledge of skin care treatment and pathology.
  • Good problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent knowledge of dermatology and skin care treatment.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work as a team member.
  • Well-organized with attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Treats patients and co-workers with respect.
  • Empathetic with the patient’s needs and concerns.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Primary Duties

  • Provides direct patient care as a representative of the owner and medical director, treating the patient in a style and manner developed and directed by the supervising physician and consistent with authorized practice as defined by state law.
  • Delivers care in accordance with mutually agreed-upon guidelines that are developed by the owner, medical director, and R.N. and based on the physician’s delegatory style.
  • Limits their involvement in the assessment and implementation of treatment to agreed-upon procedures including but not limited to injection therapy, taking into consideration their training, experience, and preparation for the R.N.
  • Tracks referral sources, send thank you letters to the source and dictates consultation letters to the patient.
  • Coordinates retention correspondence with patients regarding their follow-up treatment plans.
  • Maintains the patient’s medical records detailing all treatment procedures, medication history, and educational materials distributed.

Secondary Duties

  • Confirms with patients their clear understanding that a registered nurse is treating them.
  • Reviews with the supervising physician all delegated patient services on a regular basis, as well as mutually agreed guidelines for the practice.
  • Clarifies and familiarizes all issues related to supervision methods and style of delegating patient care with the supervising physician.
  • Maintains treatment rooms and work areas in compliance with OSHA standards.
  • Maintains inventory-tracking system for all injectable products. Orders and stocks inventory and supplies as needed.
